About Pastor Tim
The Rev. Dr. Tim Fearer will begin his transitional pastorate with FPC Hawaii on December 1, 2023!
We are thrilled to have Tim join our staff and church and look forward to his guiding presence and leadership. He will lead us through important work towards calling our next Senior Pastor. This process often takes 18 months to 2 years.
Tim was born and for the most part raised in southern California. He has experience with five churches as Pastor / Head-of-Staff, all of them in California. He currently serves as a Transitional Pastor for ECO congregations. Tim was on ECO national staff as Director of Discipleship Ministries in 2015-16. Previous to that he lived as a missionary in Turkey for eight years and returns annually to keep those relationships fresh.
Tim loves his three nephews, the beach, the mountains, books, painting, surfing, and cycling. He holds degrees from Westmont College, Princeton Seminary and Claremont Graduate University. He has also received certification both as a Coach and a Spiritual Director and does regular teaching for ECO’s ministry to pastors and elders.
We will be working on plans to provide opportunities for you to meet and connect with Tim. Session is excited to enter this next phase of our search for a new Senior Pastor. There will be a variety of opportunities for the congregation to be involved in this process as well. In the meantime, we are thankful for Tim joining our team and look forward to how God will be working with FPCH in this new season. Praise God for the thought, effort and care given by the Transition Team and Session. A lot of prayer and hard work has been done to lead us to this call and a new season for FPCH.
Tim will be visiting and leading a retreat for First Prez leadership the weekend of October 28-29 and will be in worship that Sunday!
